Cash Payments (ONLY IN ESTONIA)

We’re excited to share that starting 2025.04.07, we will introduce cash as a payment method on the platform. This new option is expected to boost the number of orders you receive as a Wolt courier partner!

Accepting cash means more customers, more deliveries, and more earning opportunities for you! Plus, it gives you more flexibility to take on orders that might not have been possible before. Here's everything you need to know about delivering cash orders, managing change, and staying within the cash limit:

How to Get Started

No extra steps are needed to begin delivering cash orders. If you have a valid contract and have completed deliveries within the past year, your account will automatically be enabled for cash operations. Simple as that!

How to Recognize a Cash Order

Before accepting an order, you’ll see a special icon indicating that it’s a cash order. Make sure to check that you have enough change available before accepting such orders. The exact amount of change needed will be displayed in the app.

Do I Need to Carry Change?

Yes, having change is important for cash orders. If you don’t have enough, you might lose time trying to get the right amount, which could delay your deliveries. To avoid any hassle, we recommend carrying smaller denominations so deliveries go smoothly.

What’s the Maximum Amount of Cash I Can Carry?

For safety and smooth operations, you can hold up to €110 in cash. If you exceed this limit, your account may be temporarily frozen until you deposit the excess amount. Once your cash balance is below €35, your account will be back to normal.

To avoid interruptions, make sure to deposit your cash before reaching this limit.

How to deposit cash so that you don't exceed the limit?

Depositing cash to avoid exceeding the limit is simple and convenient! Here is what you need to do:

1. Open the Finance section in your Wolt Partner app.

2. Tap on the “Cash Offloading” button.

3. Enter the amount of cash you wish to deposit.

4. Select your preferred payment method or add a new one, then click Submit.

Note: If you don’t see any payment options, you can easily add one in the Wolt Partner app or your Wolt Customer app.

Offloading the collected cash balance is an important part of the cash payment process. To ensure smooth operations and timely payouts, we kindly ask you to offload your cash balance at least once a week. Please note that failure to do so may result in temporary withholding of pending payments or, in some cases, termination of the service agreement.

Need assistance during or post-delivery?

If you experience any issues while completing a cash order, such as the customer not responding, having difficulty paying, or not having enough cash, there’s no need to handle it alone! Simply reach out to the Partner Support team, and they’ll assist you in resolving the situation. Our team is always here to help and ensure everything goes as smoothly as possible, so you can focus on your deliveries with peace of mind.

New addition to your service agreement

To make this payment method possible, we will be amending the service agreement very soon. Amending the service agreement is mandatory for us to be able to implement the changes described above.

In this email, you’ll find the new addition to your service agreement attached. This new addition will go into effect on 2025.04.07.

What do I have to do?

You don’t have to do anything unless you do not want to accept the updated service agreement. We hope that you are willing to give these changes a try, but if you wish to end your partnership with Wolt, you can let us know before 2025.04.07 by contacting us via the Wolt Partner app.

Your continued provision of delivery services after effective Date 2025.04.07 will constitute acceptance of the new terms and conditions.

We hope this change will provide you with what is most important: better order availability and earnings boost! This is also a chance for better tips! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us via the Wolt Partner app. We’re here to help you every step of the way.

F.A.Q

When will the cash orders be available?
Starting April 7, 2025, cash as a payment method will begin to roll out gradually across Estonia. From that date, you can expect to receive more and more cash orders, giving you access to a larger pool of deliveries—and the opportunity to increase your earnings.

How do I opt-out of cash orders?
We strongly encourage you to try cash deliveries before deciding whether to opt-out. Accepting cash orders can significantly boost your earning potential by reaching a wider customer base, including those who prefer or rely on cash payments. Every cash payment order is marked before you accept it. If you’d rather not take cash orders, simply decline them and wait for the next available ones to appear.

Does cash offloading cost money?
Cash-offloading transaction fees depend on your agreement and plan with your bank.

Is it okay for me to keep a small amount of cash?
While it is not recommended to offload cash partially, you are allowed to retain up to €30.

Can I receive orders if their cash debt limit is exceeded?
No, if your cash debt exceeds €110, you will not be able to go online. The account will remain locked until the debt drops below €35.

Can I complete deliveries while offloading cash?
It is not recommended, but it is possible to complete deliveries while offloading cash. However, it is preferable to start the cash return process outside of active deliveries for efficiency and to maintain high delivery quality.

What happens if I don’t have enough change to give the customer?
Having enough change is important when completing cash orders. If you don’t, you might waste time trying to find the right amount, which can delay your deliveries. To avoid any issues, we recommend always carrying smaller change. If something unexpected happens and you’re unable to give the right change, don’t worry—just contact our Partner Support team, and they’ll be happy to help.

What happens if the customer doesn’t provide enough cash for the order?
If a customer can’t pay the full amount in cash, don’t worry. Contact our Customer Support team right away—they’ll reach out to both you and the customer to resolve the situation as efficiently as possible.

How do I verify if cash is valid?
When collecting cash, take a quick moment to check that the notes look and feel right. Key things to look for include:

  • Watermarks or transparent elements when held up to light

  • Security thread or holograms

  • Unique texture and print quality

If anything seems suspicious, politely let the customer know and contact our Partner Support team immediately for guidance. It’s always better to double-check than take a risk.

What is the lowest amount that I can offload?
There is no minimum amount required for offloading. You can offload any cash amount as long as it does not exceed your cash debt balance.

What if I offload cash, but my account is still temporarily suspended?
While this should not happen, you should first check if your app is fully updated. If your account is still suspended, try re-logging into the app. If that does not work either, please contact support in the app, and they will help you out!

What if I offloaded cash, but the balance displayed in the app hasn’t been updated?
If the app balance does not update after offloading, you should first check if your app is fully updated. If your account is still suspended, try re-logging into the app. If that does not work either, please contact support in the app, and they will help you out!

Do I need to carry change?
Before starting cash deliveries, you have to carry enough cash to have smooth and productive operations. We recommend keeping €50 in change to ensure smooth transactions:

  • 1x €20

  • 1x €10

  • 2x €5

€10 in smaller coins

Important: If you don’t have enough change, do not accept cash orders.

When do I have to offload cash?
You can offload cash daily if you prefer, but it is mandatory to do so at least once every 7 days or whenever your balance goes over 110€. When either of these limits is reached, you must offload the total cash amount in the Finance section. Please ensure that your balance is reduced to zero by offloading the entire amount shown in the Finance section. However, at the very least, your balance must be reduced to below 35€. Otherwise, the app will not allow you to go back online.

What happens if I don’t deposit the collected cash?
Offloading the collected cash balance is an important part of the cash payment process. To ensure smooth operations and timely payouts, we kindly ask you to offload your cash balance at least once a week. Please note that failure to do so may result in the temporary withholding of pending payments or, in some cases, the termination of the service agreement.
